講義目的・到達目標
This course is intended to develop students’ English speaking fluency and listening skills as well as increase their knowledge of useful English vocabulary and expressions. A variety of topics relating to current issues of interest to university students in Japan will be looked at and discussed during the course. Students will be introduced to a variety of ideas relating to each topic and offered opportunities for discussion. The class will include various speaking and listening activities where the students work in pairs and groups. Students are expected to participate actively and contribute their ideas.

This course will be taught entirely in English, which means all materials, written work and spoken communication will be in English. This will be a task-based syllabus, with activities chosen which will improve all areas of English ability. These classwork activities will include conversations, discussions, interviews, and group presentations as well as question and answer practice, both with the teacher and other classmates. Students will be expected to use their imaginations and participate fully. The first semester will improve basic skills in communication for an international career Regular attendance and participation in classroom activities are essential for all students.
