講義目的・到達目標
The aim of this course is not only to help you prepare for your 5 weeks of studying English in the Philippines, but to prepare you for broader study and work abroad experiences. This course aims to introduce you to the benefits and challenges of studying, living, and working abroad, and to have you think about the kinds of skills you will need to successfully prepare for and live and study abroad on your own later in your university life, or during your working life.

All students are required to give a presentation. You will work together with a partner, who is interested in the same topic, to prepare for and make your presentation. Part of this assignment is to ensure that you have the skills to work closely with another person to accomplish a task. Your instructor expects you to work together to prepare for and make the presentation, which includes making Power Point slides or handouts, some comprehension questions, and some discussion topics related the chapter of the textbook upon which your presentation is based. If your instructor senses that one person has done/is doing most of the work, she will deduct points from the partner who has done/does very little.
