Purpose of the seminar
The purpose of the seminar is to write a graduation thesis based on a theme of each student's interest, utilizing the methods of corporate research and the writing of the thesis learned in the research seminar’s exercises.

Intended Outcomes
1. To be able to acquire the ability to think logically
2. To be able to write correct sentences based on evidence

講義内容・授業計画
Course Contents
In this seminar, students will learn a wide range of methods for collecting data, conducting fieldwork, and writing research papers in order to select industries and companies of their own interest and write correct and logical texts.

Course Schedule
1. To select a research theme
2. To pick up major literature on the research theme
3. To report a summary of previous research
4. To conduct questionnaires and interviews
5. To proceed with the writing of the graduation thesis
6. To report on the progress of writing and research
7. To collect additional necessary literature and conduct fieldwork.

アクティブ・ラーニングの内容
This seminar will assist students in facing questions that have no right answers through discussion. It will also help students deepen their understanding of research data and to see things logically, multilaterally, and objectively.

Evaluation Criteria
Students will be graded from an “S” to a “C” based on the goals of the seminar mentioned above.

Class discussions and comments: 30%
Class presentations: 40%
Assignments: 30%

Students are expected to attend all lectures and seminar-related events.
Please come to class with sufficient preparation and review of the papers and other materials instructed in class.

In this seminar, students will vigorously conduct interviews with Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in order to learn about the actual situation of SMEs in Japan and Japanese SME theory. Therefore, international students are required to have a higher level of Japanese language ability, while Japanese students are required to be able to explain the theory and actual situation of Japanese SMEs in both English and Japanese.
