講義目的・到達目標

The main purpose of this course is to explore a variety of topics related to Japanese lifestyles and those of some Western countries through materials and discussions. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand everyday situations in both Japanese society and Western societies better and to explain their characteristics more appropriately in English.

Students need to prepare for the next lesson (15h), do the required homework (15h), and review the previous lesson (30h).

Students will have conversations and discussions and make presentations about the topics.
成績評価の基準・方法

Students will be evaluated based on end-of-term test (50%), group discussions/presentations (30%), quizzes (10%) and assignments (10%).

Submissions (quizzes, assignments, etc.) will be returned in the next class.

Students who take this course should want to speak, read, write, listen, and study in English. They should be motivated to actively participate in class.
