The main focus of this course is to improve students’ writing abilities in English. Utilizing skills gained in Writing 1,
Writing 2 will provide students with the opportunities to create well-organized and well-developed essays.

事前・事後学習（予習・復習）の内容・時間の目安

【予習】授業に際して指示する教材の部分を事前読み込み、テキストの設問を解く（30ｈ）、
【復習】講義内容の理解を深め定着させるために、新しい語彙や表現方法など授業で取り上げられた内容を中心に教材を読み直し、テキストの設問の正答の再確認をする（30ｈ）

アクティブ・ラーニングの内容

３−５人程度のグループに分け、ディスカッションや時間の余裕がある場合は、簡単なグループ単位でのプレゼンを予定

成績評価の基準・方法

Students will be evaluated based on contribution to class discussions, quizzes, and assignments (70%) and tests (30%).

Although not required, any student who submits to the teacher by the last class of the semester a standardized test score of the following grade or higher will receive extra points.

Cambridge English: 154, Eiken: 2, CEFR: B1

履修上の注意・履修要件

Students need to prepare for the next lesson, do the required homework, and review the previous lesson.

It will be advantageous for most students to achieve a strong score on a standardized English test sometime while studying at university. Therefore, you are greatly encouraged to take one of these tests a few times before graduation. Probably, it would be beneficial to take it at least once during your first or second year, and then at least one more time during your third or fourth year. Of course, becoming aware of the format of the test by doing some practice test questions beforehand will be helpful.
