The main purposes of this course are for students to have opportunities to discuss topics related to recent national and world issues and events in English, to prepare and make presentations in English, and to choose the topics they want to learn and speak about.

講義内容・授業計画
This course will be conducted only in English. All of the materials from the teacher, the teaching, and the speaking and writing presented to the teacher and class will be in English. Translating back and forth between English and other languages is not a part of this course.

Activities involving speaking and listening, including making presentations, asking questions, answering questions, and having discussions with classmates in pairs or small groups, will be the most common activities in class. There will likely be some reading and writing done in class, as well. Presentations will need to be prepared outside of class, and there may be other homework to do, as well.

成績評価の基準・方法
Final grades will be based on overall contributions to class discussions and other in-class work (50%) and presentations (50%). Continual use of Japanese in class will result in a lower final grade.

Feedback will be given in class.

Students who take this course should be motivated to actively participate in class in English and to do the required preparation and homework.

The enrollment for this class will be limited to 25 students.  So, be sure to attend the first class.
