講義目的・到達目標

This course intends to help students understand how modern macroeconomics can shed light on facts such as economic growth, interest rates, inflation, exchange rates, direct and indirect finance, and money supply. Furthermore, the course will pay special attention to understanding the critical players of the financial system in Japan and comparing them with the US.
This course will enhance students' conceptual, analytical, and quantitative skills in understanding and solving various economic issues.

事前・事後学習（予習・復習）の内容・時間の目安

Students should spend at least 2 hours reading the PowerPoint slides and other materials at home in advance for each session to make active participation in class. This will take approximately 30 hours. Students need to prepare some assignments and submit them to the instructor for feedback. In addition, students must produce a final report at the end of the course. This will also cost 30 hours in total for post-session study. As a whole, students need to spend at least 60 hours for the pre and post-learning period for this course.

アクティブ・ラーニングの内容

Active learning is based on lectures, assignments, quizes and paper readings. PowerPoint slides will be given to the students before delivering each lecture so that they can make the necessary preparations for the upcoming class. Students must prepare assignments and submit them to the instructor for feedback. In addition, students must produce a final report at the end of the course.
