講義目的・到達目標
This class is designed to have students use their English language skills to conduct research and debate serious social issues and how to solve them. Students will learn debate, discussion, and opinion sharing skills before they conduct research in Japanese and English to debate an important social issue with their classmates. There will be reading outside of class, and the course is heavily discussion based. For their final project, students will be expected to design and implement a project that offers a solution to a social issue we debated in class.
In addition, students will be required to take the TOEFL test as part of their assessment. 授業のサブタイトル・キーワード

Students will spend between two and three hours outside of class each week reviewing the material and preparing for class,

Students will actively help design the contents, research and plan their debates, and plan a final PBL project.

Contribution to class discussions 25%,
Homework 20% Leading a class debate 25% Class Projects 25% TOEFL test 5% Unexcused absence on your debate day, or failure to complete the final will result in an automatic failure of the class. 課題・試験結果の開示方法
Peer feedback will be provided via google form. The instructor will give feedback in class, and in Unipa when possible.
