講義目的・到達目標
This course aims to provide guidance and support for students doing their final graduation research and written and oral presentations. Using the knowledge gained in Research Seminars I, II, and III, this course is designed to support students in writing a well-conceived final paper and giving an effective presentation based on their individual research topics in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Students are expected to complete both their graduation paper and presentation within the one year of instruction in Thesis Seminar I and II.

講義内容・授業計画
Students will learn basic procedures for carrying out and presenting research: deciding on a basic topic of interest, reviewing relevant literature, setting a workable research question (or testing a hypothesis, if needed), selecting appropriate research methods of inquiry, structuring a thesis, writing a paper, and giving a presentation. They will also learn about research ethics, critical thinking skills, coediting, and how to come to a solution when a research project gets stuck.

There is no specific textbook; all materials will be distributed in class or will be available in the university library.

Students will need to spend at least two hours preparing materials and reading for each class.
アクティブ・ラーニングの内容
Students will learn to organize and present materials, and to participate in the discussion.
成績評価の基準・方法
Students will be graded from “S” to a “C” based on the seminar’s goals mentioned above.
Grading criteria:
Class discussions and comments: 30%
Class presentations: 40%
Assignments: 30%.
課題・試験結果の開示方法
Feedback will be provided in class or via Unipa when possible.
履修上の注意・履修要件
The mid-term and final presentation will be held jointly with Prof. Suehiro's Seminar. Students are expected to participate in class discussions actively and to cooperate.
