In this course, students will develop their English speaking and listening abilities while gaining insight into global current affairs. Through exploration of diverse topics, students will engage in group discussions, short presentations, and pair work to actively contribute their ideas. They will delve into various ideas surrounding each subject, fostering a deeper understanding of the issues at hand.

Week 5: Global Economic Fragility and Interdependency
Week 6: LGBTQ+ Rights and Cultural Shifts / The Culture War in the West
Week 7: Climate Change and Environmental Policy
Week 8: Midterm
Week 9: Immigration and Its Global Impact
Week 10:The Global supply chain
Week 11: Corporate Responsibility and Ethical Practices
Week 12: Labour Patterns in Japan
Week 13: The Obesity Epidemic

Materials will be provided in class by the instructor

Many kinds of reference books, dictionaries, and English listening materials (such as CDs, videos, and DVDs) are available in the library. Additional materials may be shared by the instructor.

Students will be responsible for reviewing and previewing course content.

Students will develop their English abilities by engaging in group tasks, conversations, research projects and writing exercises.
