講義目的・到達目標
This seminar intends to discuss how to select a good topic for producing a quality master's thesis in the field of accounting and finance. In this seminar, students will learn how to systematically review past literature and figure out key research questions, identify critical theories, draft hypotheses, collect data, adopt appropriate univariate and multivariate analysis, present and discuss research results, and offer new avenues for research with policy implications. Then, it will shed light on topics such as corporate governance of the listed firms, earnings management, crowdfunding, venture capitalists, business angels, credit guarantee schemes, initial coin offerings, foreign direct investment, ESG performance, socially responsible finance, and the role of artificial intelligence in financial reporting. At the end, the students will produce an academic paper related to their research interests.
