Course Objectives and Learning Outcome
【Course Objectives】
The main objective of this course is to help students understand the TOEIC L&R Test format and improve their scores.

【Learning Outcomes】
Students will develop advanced English proficiency necessary for achieving a high score on the TOEIC L&R Test. They will also learn common question patterns and test-taking strategies.

【Course Description】
To achieve a high score on the TOEIC L&R test, students will (1) review the English sound system and do exercises such as dictation and shadowing to improve their listening skills, (2) learn various discourse patterns and do rapid-reading practices to improve their reading skills, and (3) answer a lot of questions and develop effective test-taking techniques.

Precautions for using Generative AI
In this course, the use of generative AI is strictly prohibited. Any use during class is forbidden, and if a violation is discovered, credits may not be granted or may be revoked.
Regardless of whether generative AI is used or not, students must pay attention to the contents described in “Guidelines on the Use of Generative AI in Education at the University of Hyogo (For Students).”

Students occasionally work in pairs and groups.
Grading Criteria and Methods
Students who demonstrate an understanding of the TOEIC L&R Test format and complete the assigned tasks to improve their scores will receive grades based on their level of proficiency in achieving the course objectives and learning outcomes. Grades will be assigned as follows: S (90 points or higher), A (80 points or higher), B (70 points or higher), and C (60 points or higher). Evaluation will be based on a TOEIC L&R test (40%), class engagement (20%), quizzes (20%) and review tests (20%). However, students who fail to attend class on six or more occasions will not be eligible for course credit.
How to Disclose Assignments and Exam Results
The resulting scores of quizzes and review tests are provided on Universal Passport.
Precautions and Requirements for Course Registration
Students are strongly recommended to join the first lesson to get more detailed information about the course. They are also required to prepare for each lesson, complete the assigned homework, and review the previous lesson.

Remarks
In this course, students are required to take a TOEIC L&R test during the semester.
In cases where any differences arise between the English version and the original Japanese version, the Japanese version shall prevail as the official authoritative version.
