Course Objectives and Learning Outcome

TOEFLは英語が母語でない話者のアカデミックな領域での英語運用能力を測るテストである。英語圏への留学では多くの大学が入学審査の一部に取り入れている。本講義ではTOEFLとはどんなテストか紹介し、学生が、リスニング、文法、読解のコツを学習しながら、スコアアップを目的として練習する。

TOEFLによく出る設定の問題に取り組む。ボキャブラリー増強を図る。毎回異なるパートのテクニックを取り上げ、繰り返し練習する。

成績評価の基準
課題を理解し、自律的に学習する方法と習慣を身につけ、能力を向上できること。英語圏の大学の学部入学が認められる程度のTOEFLスコアを出せる可能性のある水準に達すること。

成績評価の方法
定期試験を含め2回のTOEFL模擬テスト５０％を基準として、平常点（授業への積極的な貢献・課題提出など）５０％を含めて総合的に評価する。

出席のみを高く評価し成績に含むことはないが、５回以上の欠席は不可とする。
毎回、予定範囲の練習問題 1. Sharpen Your Skill を自分で予習してくる。力だめし 2. Show what you Know! はクラスで一緒に行う。この両方を毎回提出する。これらはチェック後次の回に返却するので、できていなかった箇所を各自復習する。

Remarks

・スコアアップのために毎回の予復習と課題を必ずすること。実際のTOEFL受験は受講者各自に任せる。授業では教科書付属や教官が作成した模擬テストを使う。
・当授業は、原則すべての授業を対面で実施する予定だが、感染症対策等で、オンライン授業に切り替える可能性があり、自宅等でオンライン授業の受講を視聴できる通信環境（ＰＣ・タブレット等の端末やインターネット環境）が必要となる場合がある。なお、授業方式の変更の際は事前に連絡する。
