本講義は、日本国憲法の成り立ちや基本原理、違憲か否かが争われた事案についての理解を深めることを通して、公民的資質および人権感覚を培うことを目的としている。
本講義の狙いは、１)近代憲法の特色を理解すること、２)現代社会における人権問題に目を向けること、３)憲法の理念に照らして検討すること、４)自身の意見を表明すること、にある。

Contents and Estimated Time for Pre- and Post- Learning (Preparation and Review)

講義前、講義後を通じて参考書や公務員試験の憲法に関する書籍を読んだり、公務員試験の過去問を解いてみるとよい予習、復習となる。
毎回の講義で扱う内容は、書籍では数ページ、過去問でも５問程度だと思われる。授業前に一度教科書を読んだり、過去問を解いてみて、授業後に同じことをすると、理解が深まっていると思われる。要する時間は人にもよるが、講義１回あたりの予習、復習にそれぞれ１時間（合計３０時間）もあれば十分であると思われる。
