Course Objectives and Learning Outcome

【講義目的】英語エッセイの構成・展開・書式等に関する知識を得て、英語でエッセイを書くための基礎を固める。これが専門的なエッセイ・論文執筆の土台となるため、大学院生としての視点からインターネット上の記事や学術論文にも目を通すことで、英語表現における論理構成の分析力も磨く。
【到達目標】１）英語の書式に関する規則を実践的に適用でき、２）エッセイの構成を組み立てられ、３）その際、効果的な語彙を用いながら、論理的かつ説得力のあるエッセイを書けること。また、４）専門的なエッセイや学術論文の読解にその知識を応用して、論の構成・展開を的確にたどれること。

【予習】「講義内容・授業計画」に基づき、次回分の学術論文該当箇所を予習（30ｈ）。
【復習】当該回の授業内容の復習（15ｈ）、それを踏まえたエッセイ・ライティング（15ｈ）。

Contents of Active Learning

エッセイの論理構成や課題となる専門的な学術論文の内容について、ディスカッションを通じて考えを深め、正しい知識に基づく表現力を向上させる。

Grading Criteria and Methods

【成績評価の基準】自分の立場を示しながら論理的に英語の段落やエッセイを書くことができ、学術論文の論理構成を適切に説明できる者については、講義目的・到達目標に記載する能力（知識・技能、思考力、表現力等）の到達度に基づき、S（90点以上）、A（80点以上）、B（70点以上）、C（60点以上）による成績評価の上、単位を付与する。
【成績評価の方法】パラグラフやエッセイのライティングタスク40%・学術論文に対する理解度40%を基準とし、平常点（積極的な発言等）20%を含めて総合的に評価する。
