Academic Goals of Teacher Training Course

Course Objectives and Learning Outcome
This course aims to help students acquire strategies for dealing with the more difficult questions on the TOEIC test and develop more practical communication skills using English. Students will develop comprehensive English skills such as vocabulary, reading comprehension, listening skills, and grammatical knowledge to obtain a TOEIC score of 700 or higher.

Course Overview and Schedule
Ⅰ Course Description
Students will focus on practicing reading comprehension questions quickly and accurately in the advanced class, which is necessary to obtain a high score. In addition, students will practice questions using the textbook and learn how to answer each part and the vocabulary frequently used. In this course, the use of generative AI is strictly prohibited. Any use during class is forbidden, and if a violation is discovered, credits may not be granted or may be revoked.

Preparation for class
When instructed by the instructor, students are expected to prepare for class by translating the assigned passages into Japanese and studying the topics. (about 1 hour) Review after class Students will be given a quiz on each unit, so please review the assigned sections and prepare for each test. Students will be evaluated based on the proficiency Test(30%), contribution to the class, quizzes, and assignments(70%).

In the lecture, answers and examples will be provided and explained for the assignments and quizzes.
Precautions and Requirements for Course Registration
Students are expected to actively participate by answering the questions and making statements as instructed.
Each student should bring an dictionary that he or she is familiar with. Students need to prepare for the next lesson, do the required homework, and review the previous lesson for the review quiz.
