Academic Goals of Teacher Training Course

Course Objectives and Learning Outcome
The purpose of this course is to develop fluency in oral expression. After completing this course, students are expected to understand ・how to pronounce coherent speech utterances in an easy-to-understand manner through shadowing, ・how to express and explain their own opinions, ・how to contribute to moving the work ahead by inviting others to join their teams or encouraging them to express their opinions, ・how to present a topic in their areas of expertise or on a topic they are familiar with.

Contents and Estimated Time for Pre- and Post- Learning (Preparation and Review)
Students are expected to use at least 60 minutes in preparation for each class (reviewing the content of the previous class).
Contents of Active Learning
Students will have opportunities to actively discuss in Japanese through pair work and group work in class.
Grading Criteria and Methods
S (90%~) excellent (thorough mastery of course material & concepts)
A (80%~) good (proficient grasp of most course material & concepts)
B (70%~) fair (general understanding of principal course material & concepts)
C (60%~) poor but passing (superficial familiarity with some course material)
 In order to obtain the credits for this course, at least a C (60%) is necessary.
How to Disclose Assignments and Exam Results
Students will receive continuous feedback in class.
Precautions and Requirements for Course Registration
Students are expected to actively participate in class, and to prepare (by reviewing or studying the materials by the instructor) before each class.
