Purpose:
Students apply the principles of labour economics and broaden their knowledge about the labour market and social issues in the real world.

Targets of this seminar:
1. Students can descibe their understanding of the issues regarding labour market and social problems.
2. Students can conduct communication skills for discussion and presentation based on their research.

In this seminar, the students are expected to take the lead in the learning process which includes discussions and presentations.
Each student is supposed to decide some themes to research according to their interests.

In this course, the use of generative AI is permitted only within the following scope, and use beyond this scope is prohibited. Students must follow the instructions of the instructor regarding the use of generative AI. If it is found that generative AI has been used beyond the scope approved by the instructor, credits may not be granted or may be revoked. It is important to verify factual accuracy and check/add sources and references for any content generated by AI. Submitting AI-generated output directly as assignments or reports is strictly prohibited.

Students will be graded according to the achievement of the lecture objectives and targets.
Credits will be given if graded S (90-100), A(80-89), B(70-79), or C(60-69).

Grading criteria:
Class discussions and comments: 50%
Presentations: 35%
Report: 15%

Each student will be individually given feedback on their presentations and reports.

Students are required to participate in discussion proactively.

This class is scheduled to be conducted in person on campus. However, depending on the number of students enrolled, as a measure against coronavirus infection, the students may need to be divided into classrooms which are connected online, or the students may need to take classes on line from home every other week. Therefore, students will need to arrange for an Internet environment using a PC or tablet, Wi-Fi, etc. The final decision about this will be made after registration is completed, and students will be notified about any changes at that time.
