Course Objectives and Learning Outcome
The Thesis Seminar I is a continuation of the Research Seminars I, II, and III.
Course Objective: The goal of this course is for students to conduct research on a graduation thesis topic and present their research results under the guidance of the course instructor.
Learning Objective: Students will continue research on their chosen topic and write a graduation thesis.

I. Course Content
The Thesis Seminar I is a continuation of Research Seminars I, II, and III.
This course aims to support independent research on a graduation thesis topic, with students presenting their findings under the instructor’s guidance.
Students are expected to further develop their research and complete a graduation thesis on their chosen topic.
Students will review graduation theses written by previous students.

Precautions for using Generative AI
In this course, the use of generative AI is strictly prohibited. Any use during class is forbidden, and if a violation is discovered, credits may not be granted or may be revoked.
Regardless of whether generative AI is used or not, students must pay attention to the contents described in “Guidelines on the Use of Generative AI in Education at the University of Hyogo (For Students)”

Readings will be made available in class.
Contents and Estimated Time for Pre- and Post- Learning (Preparation and Review)
[Preparation] Students are expected to complete the readings related to the class (15 hours) and prepare a brief presentation of 15 minutes (5 hours).
[Review] Students are expected to review the readings covered in class to deepen their understanding of the class contents (20 hours).

Contents of Active Learning
Students will have an opportunity to present their research and comment on their fellow students' research presentations.
Grading Criteria and Methods
[Grading Criteria]
Students are expected to develop the knowledge, skills, reasoning, judgment, and expression outlined in the course objectives and learning goals through their graduation thesis research.
Grades will be assigned as follows: S (90 points or above), A (80 points or above), B (70 points or above), and C (60 points or above).
At least 60 points are required for obtaining credit for this course.

[Grading Method]
Final grades will be based on the following: 40% thesis manuscript, 40% research progress presentation, and 20% active contribution to class activities .


How to Disclose Assignments and Exam Results
1. The course instructor will return the students' thesis manuscripts with comments.
2. In the final class, the course instructor will review the overall contents of the class and conduct a feedback session.

Precautions and Requirements for Course Registration
1. Students are required to submit a thesis manuscript and give a presentation on the progress of their research in class.
2. Students are required to attend classes weekly. Three or more unexcused absences will result in failure of the course.


Practical Education
The course instructor plans to conduct one field trip and one event related to career guidance.
