【講義目的】
この授業では、言語はどのように変化するかを、特に歴史的な観点からかんがえます。日本語や英語といったよくしられた言語だけでなく、世界のさまざまな言語の事例を通じて、言語の歴史的変化について学習することを目的とします。
【到達目標】
言語が歴史的にみてどのように変化しうるかを説明できるようになることを目標とします。さらに、日本語や英語といった言語にみられる身近な現象について、歴史的な観点から説明できるようになることも目標とします。

【講義内容】
この授業では、言語はどのように変化するかという問題について、音変化を中心に、歴史的観点からの解説をおこないます。歴史言語学における比較方法や内的再建の原理についても紹介します。

授業であつかう内容について、図書館等でしらべる。
【復習】
授業で紹介した事例について、日本語や英語等における具体例を図書館等を活用してしらべる。
毎回の予習と復習（授業内発表の準備やレポート作成のための時間をふくむ）を合計4時間を目安におこなう。

【成績評価の方法】
