Course Objectives and Learning Outcome

本講義では、アメリカ文学の精読を通して現代アメリカ社会が抱える課題の根底にある思想を探り、新たな作品解釈を提案することが目的である。人種、ジェンダー、階級、地域性という観点を中心に、作品が描かれた当時のアメリカ社会における歴史と文化を考察し、複眼的視点から作品を捉え直していくための基本的な事柄を講義する。アメリカ社会の諸問題を見つけ出し、先行研究や関連する資料を踏まえた上で自分の考えを紡ぎ出すことが目標である。

「生成AIの利用にあたっては『本学の教育における生成AIの取扱いについて(学生向け)』の記載内容について留意すること。
この授業においては、以下の範囲において、生成AIの利用を許可し、これ以外の範囲での利用は禁止する。生成AIの利用については担当教員の指示に従うこと。教員が認める範囲を超えて生成AIを利用したことが判明した場合は、単位を認定しない、又は認定を取り消すことがある。生成AIの出力した内容について、事実関係の確認や出典・参考文献を確認・追記することが重要である。また、生成AIによる出力結果をそのまま課題・レポートとして提出してはならない。

アメリカ文学作品から現代アメリカ社会が抱える課題の根底にある思想を読み取り、新たな作品解釈の可能性を提案することができるものに単位を与える。
講義目的および到達目標に掲げた内容についての理解度に応じて、ＳからＣまでの評点をつける。小レポート・発表等40%、課題レポート60%を基準とし、授業発表や質問を含めて総合的に判断する。
