Spanish language is designated as official language in 21 countries including one community. Linguistically, this language shares many similarities with French, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian, and so on, thanks to their root, Latin. This class is designed to enable the students to communicate with peers in Spanish in respect of habits, family, foods, etc.
a. Understading questions and responding to them correctly in Spanish from the perspective of grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. b. The teacher will often ask students to interact with peers in Spanish throughout this course. In addition to the designated textbook, we will read another one written in English to compensate important grammatical aspects and issues.

The communication tasks will be achived during class, so you need to review the meaning of learnt vocabulary and grammar constructures after class (approx. 1.5 h. for each lesson).
Additionally, it is crutial to check new words and expressions for the next lesson (approx. 30 minutes for each lesson). アクティブ・ラーニングの内容
Talking to a peer or in groups of three or four students to practice oral communication in Spanish. Sometimes, the partner or group members will be changed or randomly decided. You don't have to be shy, so just frankly and comfortably try to speek Spanish. Any questions and comments are welcomed anytime and anywhere!
成績評価の基準・方法
I. Quizzes about grammar and vocabulary: 10% (LO a.)
II. Accuracy of answering questions: 10% (LO a. c.) III. Peer activities: 10% (LO a. b. c.) IV. Final examination: 70% (LO b. c.) V. Questionnaire: 5% (extra) The grade of S (90 points or more), A (80 points or more), B (70 points or more), and C (60 points or more) will be given based on the level of achievement of the abilities described in the lecture objectives. 課題・試験結果の開示方法
At the beginning of each class, we will have quizzes to confirm how well each student has acquired the Spanish vocabulary and grammar taught in the previous lesson. This small test will be returned at the beginning of the next lesson with some comments.
履修上の注意・履修要件
Students who have taken this course "Spanish (A)" must register for "Spanish (B)", as well.
This course doesn't require knowledge regarding Linguistics nor Romance languages in advance. In other words, if you take interest in Spanish language, cultures in Spanish speaking countries or communities, Linguistics, foreign languages, etc. you are warmheartedly welcomed to this class. We can talk about Spanish, (foreign) language studies, Romance languages, Linguistics (especially, phonology, phonetics, and morphology), etc. during the office hours. 実践的教育
